I first heard about Wheely Wonders when my daughter was having a really tough time. Phoebe (aged 8) just seemed so sad and was finding the things she usually found easy really hard. We all felt a bit lost, wanting so much to be able to support and soothe her and struggling to find the best way to help. I reached out on the Reaching Families page and Lizzie let me know about her Craft Club and Wheely Wonders. It meant so much to me and my husband to be invited straight away for something supportive and fun for Phoebe. Most support you have to fight for, or pay lots for and all usually has a long waiting list but these projects were different - we were being warmly welcomed and could attend soon.
I was a bit wary about whether Phoebe would cope with Craft Club as she was finding school tough, but the moment we walked through the door I knew it would be an amazing support to her. Lizzie and her volunteers were so warm and encouraging. I came to pick her up and it was as if her whole body language had changed; she looked much less hunched up and tense and I could hear her laughing and talking at ease. Such a weight lifted that day for both of us I think.
Wheely Wonders days are incredible too. Being outside is so good for all of our moods. Taking part in such a brilliant range of activities is just fantastic for the children and for us. The girls seem care free at Wheely Wonders and we as parents can let down our guard knowing that all of us as parents understand each other. The team that provide the activities all go out of their way to make sure that each person is included and that differences are celebrated.
I feel at peace there enjoying bubble rockets or waving ribbons with the girls, exploring brilliant forest school activities and watching them enjoy making a brilliant range of crafts. It really is magic and I think Phoebe agrees!

At Wheely Wonders you get to:
• Toast Marshmallows
• Have fun in the forest
• Meet the animals
• Make brilliant crafts
At Lizzie’s Craft Club you get to make so many different things and use all sorts of materials!
They are both absolutely amazing. Being able to go there makes me feel happy! If you look around you will see smiles on everyone’s faces!”
